Hexagenia Flies
Hexagenia hatches happen all of the US. Non better than lake Almanor. Big fish come to eat these guys!!!
We fish the nymphs on sinking lines RIO InTouch Lines like an Intermediate and Type III. We use short leaders - straight tippet material 3x. The dry flies we fish on 9 foot tapered leaders down to 3x tippet. All the Hex dries have foam on them. I still treat Milt's Paranymph with Loon's Lochsa, just on the elk hair wing.
